March 10th and 11th Creativity Retreat - Self Discovery

Douglas E. Taylor: has been exercising both sides of his brain as a professional artist, educator and business owner/manager since 1980. He has learned and been able to communicate important skills and understanding about the creative process through those various endeavors.  Because of his own experiences and studies, he has a comprehensive and multi-discipline understanding of the creative process. Taylor accomplished his Master of Fine Arts degree from Washington University in St. Louis. He taught many studio art and academic art courses on the college/university level from 1982-1998, also many workshops and presentations between then and now. Presentation: What do you Do With a Problem? Overcoming Adversity and Obstacles
Creating Possibilities with Lateral Thinking Skills
Douglas E. Taylor will share examples of his personal and compelling experiences and then introduce lateral thinking skills that you will practice, dealing with real problems that may be affecting you and your life. "Problems" are opportunities and tools used for a creative life.


 Amanda Walker is a Joyful Living Coach and Founder of The Path of Joyful Living at 
www.amandawalkercoach.com and the host of Messy Masterpiece, a weekly podcast on iTunes and Stitcher Radio. Amanda encourages you to see the Message in your Mess and turn it into a Masterpiece. She teaches Meditation as the foundational practice for spiritual awakening and healing. Amanda believes everything is possible. 

Presentation: Friday: Intro to The Wisdom of the Enneagram: An ancient guide to personal and spiritual development 
Saturday: Diving into the 9 Personality Types and learn how to rise to the highest levels of functioning.

Barb Lucas, MA LCPC
Barb is an aspiring Mystic,Pathfinder, Ambitionator, and Intentionalist.  In her professional life, she offers: Solution focused counseling, dynamic and experiential coaching, as well as team development/training.  Barb is an Expressive Artist who uses creative modalities with clients to access their inner knowing.

Using simple art materials, connect with your Inner Monk and Inner Artist, allies on your path of self discovery.


 Daphne Bierer is human and a native to the area enjoying all of the opportunities that life dumps on her.  She is a natural leader, teacher and lover of the outdoors, gardening and animals. She is enthusiastic, energetic, service-oriented, and adventurous. She prides herself on being knowledgeable, capable, dependable, and having a deep curiosity for the unknown with a desire to constantly learn.

Presentation: Fast Friends
The game is a ‘fun, interactive way to make connections in a short time frame’


 Bella Stolz is inspired to support others to be active and create from their deepest Self. She teaches Intentional CreativityTM and yoga to all ages and levels from an intuitive expansive space as well as offer sound healing circles. She feels so much joy in sharing how her life has changed in wonderful ways when she allows her heart to lead.

Presentation: Connecting to the peace within you
Connecting with the peace that resides within you starts with becoming present. Through gentle yoga poses we will find stillness in our bodies and open our hearts to the connection to life force energy.

 Kris Bayer has 7 children and has homeschooled for 27 years. She currently teaches creative writing at Riverstone School in Hamilton, holds space for Socrates CafĂ© and other local discussions, and loves to facilitate conversations that matter. She holds a BA in Education and has been trained in Liberating Structures, the Art of Hosting, Community at Work, and Mediation. She loves to read and learn new things.

Presentation: Theory U and Doing the Same Thing
Three stories communicate her experience with the Creative Process. Gourd art, creative writing imagination, and MIT Theory U: leading from the emerging future. She hopes you too will discover your own unique ability to create what your heart desires. 


 Jacqueline Locke has loved living in Hamilton for almost 40 years. She holds a B.S. in Recreation and has been a certified Laughter Yoga Leader for almost 4 years. She is excited to share with you how to choose laughter to improve your health, spark joy, and inspire creativity. 

Presentation: Creative Laughter
Laughter Yoga is a unique practice of consciously deliberate laughter that actually changes your body chemistry to reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and alleviate pain for improved health. The yogic breathing oxygenates your brain, which helps you think more clearly and creatively. And sharing the fun of laughing together creates a social bond among participants, which can facilitate group cooperation and problem solving. In fact, the stated goal of Laughter Yoga is "World Peace Through Laughter"!
